VIETNAM: House Church Leaders Attacked
On Nov. 13, a gang of men entered the home of Pastor Nguyen Danh Chau near Hanoi, and
attacked Baptist house church leaders who were participating in a spiritual renewal meeting.
More than a dozen people were injured, including women and teenagers, and the gang
threatened to kill Pastor Danh Chau if he continued holding Christian gatherings.
Nguyen Cong Thanh, head of the Agape Baptist Church, wrote in a Nov. 15 statement that
"All [the injured] could do was weep, and I also could not prevent my tears from flowing.
Why do they gratuitously beat servants of the Lord like this--what crime have they
committed, what enemies have they made? All we want to do is gather people to worship
and serve God and our fellowman...God have mercy!"
Police and higher authorities habitually employ gangs for such anti-Christian attacks,
according to Christian leaders in Vietnam. The gang members are rarely identified and or
prosecuted.

Please Pray!
Please remember the injured in your prayers and pray that the death threats spoken will fall to the ground and come to
nothing. Pray that God will place a hedge of protection around Christians in Vietnam and that they will not be hindered in
their faith. Pray for the salvation of the Vietnamese authorities and civilians who find satisfaction in harming Christians.
"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong." (1 Corinthians 16:13)
